Courtney Pearse: What makes the TIARA Talent Acquisition Awards stand out compared to other industry recognitions?
Chris Holmes: These awards are always excellent, why, because they are so human centric, focussed on real achievement, innovation and those in TA making a real difference. The evening itself, such positive energy and a real sense of shared celebration.
CP: From your perspective as a judge, what qualities or achievements make an entry stand out?
CH: What I will be looking for is a true team effort, showing an innovative approach, fresh thinking and real inclusion. I very much look forward to reviewing submissions clear, to the point, rich with examples.
CP: What key trends will you be looking out for this year within the entries?
CH: Some of the key trends I will be looking out for include:
- Well thought through use of technologies, purposed and planned;
- How AI is being effectively considered and deployed;
- Innovative approaches to inclusion;
- How hybridity is being considered;
- Bringing out of the brand;
- Experience, experience, experience.
CP: How does being recognised by the TIARA Awards enhance credibility and influence within the talent acquisition industry?
CH: It’s a real boon to be recognised by these awards as any previous winner will agree. Recognised by your peers, always worthwhile and worthy for all those who succeed.
CP: Why do you believe it’s important for TA teams or professionals to showcase their work through platforms like TIARA?
CH: It’s incredibly important for good work, new approaches and innovation to be highlighted. In everything I’ve been involved with, I’ve always tried to take the time to pause and celebrate success and those who make the difference, that’s what these awards stand for.
CP: What advice would you give to someone entering the awards for the first time?
As the logo on my shorts stated at Barcelona 1992: Just Do It. Take the time, make the time to make your entry: for you, your team, your organisation, for everything you are trying to achieve.
