Emily Shanks: What sets the TIARA Recruitment Awards ANZ apart from other industry recognition campaigns in the region?
Kris Clelland: The TIARA Recruitment Awards ANZ are truly unique in the way to celebrate excellence and innovation within the recruitment, staffing and talent solutions industries. Unlike other recognition campaigns, the TIARAs focus on a holistic approach to talent acquisition, emphasising not just the end results but also the processes, strategies, and innovations that drive success. This comprehensive, and completely agnostic, evaluation ensures that the awards recognise the very best in the industry, setting a high benchmark for others to aspire to.
ES: How do the TIARA Awards help to raise standards within the recruitment industry?
KC: The TIARA Awards play a crucial role in elevating industry standards by highlighting best practices, while showcasing exemplary achievements. By recognising and rewarding outstanding performance, the awards encourage companies to strive for excellence and adopt innovative, and diverse approaches. This, in turn, fosters a culture of continuous improvement and drives the entire industry forward, ensuring that recruitment practices are constantly evolving and improving.
ES: What do you think will be the key themes in the submissions this year?
KC: This year, I anticipate that the key themes in the submissions will revolve around digital transformation, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and candidate & employee experience. With the rapid advancements in HR, TA and Recruitment technology, many organisations are leveraging digital tools to enhance their recruitment processes, in ways that we have never seen before. Additionally, there is a growing emphasis on creating inclusive workplaces and ensuring a positive experience for candidates throughout the recruitment journey. These themes reflect the current priorities and challenges within the industry, and I expect to see many innovative and impactful initiatives in these areas – watch this space!
ES: As a previous Judge what advice would you give to anyone looking to enter the TIARA awards?
KC: My advice to anyone entering any of the categories in this year’s TIARA awards, is to be authentic and tell your story – take the readers and judges on a journey, painting a picture of successes, focus and continuous improvement in as many different ways that you can. Focus on the unique aspects of your initiatives and highlight the impact they have had on your organisation and the wider industry (know your competition, and what they are doing, and how you are driving to consistently better it). Provide clear evidence of your achievements and be sure to showcase the innovative approaches you have taken. Remember, all judges are looking for entries that stand out and demonstrate a genuine commitment to excellence and innovation – no Chat GPT copy/paste!
Be authentic and show us who you really are.
ES: What distinguishes TIARA award ceremonies from other industry celebrations?
KC: The TIARA award ceremonies are distinguished by their celebratory and inclusive atmosphere – we don’t put anyone above others, recognise all achievements across the industry and in the room, and understand that some have just stood out that little more than others – there is no favouritism with our 100% agnostic judging panels globally for all models of TIARA Awards.
These events bring together the best and brightest in the industry, creating a sense of community and shared achievement. The ceremonies are not just about recognising individual successes but also about celebrating the collective progress of the industry as a whole. The focus on networking and peer-to-peer learning further enhances the experience, making the TIARA awards a truly unique and memorable event.
Simply ask anyone who has attended before, and I would guarantee they will remember at least 5 things from the event, over others in the industry!
The TIARA Recruitment Awards ANZ are open for entries until Friday 20th September.
