For those who don’t feel appreciated, 57% would like their workplace to offer benefits that matter to them personally, and 45% want recognition for personal milestones. Other important factors include camaraderie with colleagues (43%), benefits (42%), and opportunities for growth (41%), according to Reward Gateway.

He noted that establishing a dynamic benefits program is key to supporting employees and acknowledging their growth both professionally and personally.
Impact of personalised recognition
Customised recognition plays a crucial role in making employees feel valued. The report reveals that 84% of employees feel more appreciated when they receive personalised recognition, such as a gift certificate. This personalised approach also enhances their connection to the workplace, with 82% agreeing it makes them feel more engaged.
Benefits of personalised recognition
Employees who receive personalised recognition are also more likely to stay with their company longer (81%), experience improved wellbeing (78%), and feel less stressed (73%). The report found that extroverts (88%) are more likely than introverts (80%) to feel a stronger connection to their workplace through personalised recognition.
Preferred methods of recognition
Regarding recognition methods, 57% of employees prefer monetary rewards for work-related performance or milestones. Additionally, employees appreciate being recognised through individual performance reviews (29%), private verbal praise (22%), and verbal praise during team meetings (20%).
